Song in the city features the talented musicians of Houston in a raw, uncut, personal level in a setting of their choosing.  Singer/ Songwriter Tyagaraja chose to do his Song In The City at The Rothko Reflecting Garden.  Intertwined in passion, acoustic rhythm and unique insight this talented and spiritually driven artist delivers a one of a kind performance.

Featuring 100 beers for your enjoyment including 30 on tap Woodrows claims to be serving up the “coldest beer in Texas” which is just the way we like it. In fact, most of their bottles are served directly out of ice boxes so join the Barbelle (you may need your own bucket) and don’t forget your Koozie!

Ice houses in Texas have a long history of being THE cornerstone of a neighborhood: once the only place to get ice, they soon became gathering places to drink beer, eat and hang out with neighbors and Beavers has happily staked its claim in the east end of the Washington corridor. We couldn’t help but fall in love with the musical talents of Diane Birch and decided even with the bad audio we had to release the footage for our Blockcast. Birch mixes piano-playing virtuosity with easy-going soul, and she can strike an uplifting groove on even the most melancholy tune. Birch having been traveling the across the globe some how arrived to catch up with us for our Song in the City.

Since the 1970’s, the entire world has had a unique opportunity in March to appreciate and celebrate the culture of French speaking countries. Throughout the month of March, in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, The French Cultures Festival / “Mois de la Francophonie” will feature lectures, films, theatrical shows, concerts, meetings with artists, receptions, parties and so much more.
